Dr. Shen obtained his Bachelor of Social Sciences Degree in 1978 and his Master of Social
Sciences Degree in Clinical Psychology in 1981 from The University of Hong Kong. In 1990,
Dr. Shen immigrated to Vancouver, Canada, where he undertook more education from Simon
Fraser University, resulting in a Doctor of Philosophy Degree (Ph.D.) in Clinical Psychology in
1996. In addition, Dr. Shen sought further training from the Western Branch Canadian
Psychoanalytic Society and developed his expertise in psychodynamic psychotherapy.
Dr. Shen also has a background in Traditional Chinese Medicine and he believes in a holistic
model of health and healing. He was trained in Energy Diagnostic and Treatment Method
(EDxTM®) by its founder, Dr. Fred Gallo, and is a Certified Advance Energy Diagnostics and
Treatment Method Practitioner. He is also a Certified Magnified Healing® First Phase and Third
Phase Practitioner and Teacher, trained by its founder Rev. Gisele King.
In 1981, Dr. Shen started to practise as Clinical Psychologist with then The Spastic Association
of Hong Kong, where he worked with children with Cerebral Palsy. In 1984, he changed to
Castle Peak Hospital where he worked with patients afflicted with severe mental disorders. In
1989, he took on the position of Medical Psychologist at The Prince of Wales Hospital, one of
the university teaching hospitals in Hong Kong.
In Canada, Dr. Shen was Clinical Psychologist at the British Columbia Children’s Hospital for 7
years, where he served at the Child Psychiatry Department and the Child Oncology Department.
At the same time, he held a successful private practice in the Kerrisdale neighbourhood.
When he returned to Hong Kong in 2010, Dr. Shen continued to practise privately at the Rosales
Medical Clinic and at The Matilda Hospital Medical Centres.

During the years between 1983 and 1990, Dr. Shen was Honorary Lecturer of the Department of
Psychology of both The University of Hong Kong and The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
In Canada, Dr. Shen was Honorary Lecturer of the Department of Psychiatry of the University of
British Columbia, and of the Department of Psychology of Simon Fraser University. After his
return to Hong Kong, Dr. Shen was Part-time Lecturer at The University of Hong Kong. He also
conducted regular workshops on Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and Energy Therapy, and he has
presented his scholarly works at international conferences in Canada, USA, and Singapore.
In Canada, Dr. Shen gives regular seminars and workshops on Psychospirituality.
